Dr. Leah Griswold provides nutrition counseling that is tailored to the individual.  Some individuals are seeking help with improving their overall nutrition for health and wellness.  Others, for the management and healing of conditions such as Type 2 diabetes.  Based on the needs and goals, an individualized program will be created.  These programs can be one-on-one or in a group setting.  Currently, Dr. Griswold is offering group workshops on various health and nutrition related subjects that are free to the public.

 

Dr. Griswold also practices Functional Medicine, working to implement lifestyle medicine for specific conditions.  Specific diet plans, supplement recommendations and monitoring is implemented.  Supplements can not only be ineffective, but also harmful, therefore, Dr. Griswold recommends only supplements that have been evaluated by at least one third party, are standardized, have high quality ingredients and scientific documentation that can supports the claims made on the label.  Click the button to see supplement recommendations

Most Functional Medicine practitioners use "Food First."  Dr. Leah Griswold has studied nutrition for over 30 years and applied it clinically with her patients.  Dr. Griswold  provides nutrition education, nutrition for weight loss and clinical nutrition to target specific health concerns.  A wealth of information is available through one-on-one counseling, this website and links that provide reliable information.   When it comes to our food, Dr. Griswold recommends finding a local farmer to buy fruits, vegetables and, especially meat, whenever possible.  As a society our food sources are becoming more and more polluted. Knowing where, and from whom, your food is coming from is a powerful tool for a healthy diet. In addition, Dr. Griswold utilizes lab testing when appropriate to better determine the specific nutritional needs of the patient.
